Here’s a question for the commenters born before the 80s- what action movie defined your decade the same way Indiana Jones did the 80s and Jurassic Park did the 90s? It pretty much has to be Star Wars for the 70s, right?
@mj Absolutely it was Star Wars! However, if we’re going for the Spielberg motif it has to be Jaws, which would have been the best near-action movie of the 70s if not for Star Wars.
@mj I don’t remember any of the 70s myself, since I was just a toddler at most. So my identity is with the 80s, but I can’t wear the shirt because it’s a lie.
@mj Expecting someone to identify strongly with a movie from the beginning of the decade you were born in seems odd. Only a few people buying the shirt would’ve been alive when the movie came out, and for me at least my formative movie experience didn’t happen until I was 10.
This would be like me buying a Hard Day’s Night shirt because I was born in the (late) 60s. (Great movie, but I probably didn’t see it until the 90s.) Star Wars would be the right timeframe for me.
This is more like “Raised in the Eighties/Nineties.”
@djslack@mj same with me…born LATE August '79… so Technically Born in the 70’s… but i didn’t even start crawling until the 80’s…
and my first Memory is waking up in a theater in the middle of ROTJ…
that all being said… I had to vote for BTTF.
Pretty much my Fav. Movie, and I blame it for the fact that I will watch almost anything involving Time Travel…
@mj There’s so many amazing films from the 70’s,Close Encounters, The Exorcist, Rocky 1 and 2, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. but if I’m forced to pick one, Alien. The shirt could have the glowing egg behind the wording, or a head hugger.
If these shirts are to be believed, then the quintessential movie of the 1980s is one in which a character travels back to an earlier moment in history (or, in subsequent installments, into the future).
Another definitive franchise (not referenced in these shirts) from the same decade concerned a man–an apparent professor–who, in the 1930s, would explore ruins, essentially going even further back in time than the film itself did.
Isn’t the second movie described there the one that is referenced in the 1980s shirt, and the first movie the one that isn’t?
@The_Tim Somehow, I had a total brain fart, misidentified the font from the 80s shirt, and yet… still wrote about the referenced film. Gonna go ahead and tweak that.
Eighties? Nineties? Surely the only thing stopping you from targeting people born in the 2000s is that they still have too much self-respect to be hanging around here.

Born in the Neither!!
@yakkoTDI I’m with you. And the artist as well, according to the bio.
Yeah! Maybe I’ve been too old to be shopping here all along!
@NapkinEater Never!!
Awkward way to find out I was born before cool t-shirts.

This bit from the description confuses me:

Yup

@dseanadams Haha phew, at least I’m not crazy!
Life uh…finds a way.
I guess this Web site doesn’t want old folks shopping here!
Why tf does everyone forget about Gen X?

I’ve spent some enjoyable times in Alicante! Nice beach, fantastic seafood.
