It’s Full of Stars
There’s something poignant here. Space, an endless void dotted with celestial bodies separated by unfathomable distances. It is laced with colorful clouds of elements floating freely that one day may yet condense into a star again. The building blocks of the universe. All matter has simply been repurposed, reformed, reborn.
That same matter is inside us. Our skin, our blood, our DNA. Where did our matter come from? Whose atoms have we inherited? Beyond our relatives, beyond the human race, beyond all the animals and plants and microorganisms.
How much of us was forged in the sun? How much of us was carried from another galaxy upon a meteor older than the planet? How much of us rubbed shoulders with what would become distant stars in a dense singularity before all of it exploded outward?
Stardust wrapped into strands of genetic material forms the basis of all life. We are inextricably part of the universe, as it is part of us.
As in the stars, so too in our blood.
As above, so below.
