Like all musical styles I like some and dislike others.
Not sure what the exact definition of Heavy Metal is but here are some heavy bands I have enjoyed.
Soilent Green
Body Count
HED (P.E.)
Metallica (Early years like …And Justice For All)
Tool
Millie Vanilli*
The Amity Affliction
Ministry
The Revolting Cocks
*Totally messing with you guys. Not that I don’t listen to them but I don’t consider them to be very heavy.
@xedrothi That was great! I’m not sure I could handle more than one song at a time. It makes me feel like when I listen to Meshuggah. Not that the two are comparable, I just see and appreciate the talent, but I can’t quite immerse myself in it.

Mostly folk metal. Yeah, that’s a thing. In order of listens from last.fm (cherry-picking metal, it’s not all I listen to):
Does the Violet Burning count? TheVioletBurningLow
BEARTOOTH.
My first comment ever on any Mediocre site because Beartooth is SO GOOD and I want to spread their goodness.
