Not as fun as when I was younger but I still love Christmas.
I do miss the older decorations from when I was a kid (especially the ones from before my time) as most modern decorations definitely look more like they belong to Capitalismus.
Back in the days in which Christmas season didn’t start until after Thanksgiving, it was fine. Nowadays, with stores starting it before Halloween, Christmas-in-July, and generally pushing sales earlier and earlier, it leans much much more like capitalism instead.
Thanks for saying that. My take, also. The commercialization of Christmas: Buy, buy, buy…Debt, debt, debt. “You’re so-and-so won’t be happy unless you buy…” That’s the year-round crap that I’ve had enough of! I hate how consumerism has us choosing IT, or family and memories. I’m at that point in life, I want to go out having many rich memories with my Significant.
