People don’t seem to realize there’s a difference between a dance movie which is a movie where the act of dance is essential to the plot (Dirty Dancing or Save the Last Dance for example) and a movie with dancing (musicals, for example). Just like there’s a difference in a music movie (Bohemian Rhapsody or Amadeus for example) and a musical (Wicked, Rent, Chicago, Singing In the Rain, or even Repo! The Genetic Rock Opera even though that’s an opera, not a musical).
Whatever this movie was that @mossygreen posted with Ricardo Montalbán and Cyd Charisse
@therealjrn On An Island With You
Center Stage

The Bandwagon: I’ll match your Cyd Charisse and raise you a Fred Astaire.
Grease!
The Wizard of Oz… Singing and dancing plus wicked witches and flying monkeys. The complete package!
Dancin’ Outlaw
LITERALLY any other movie, including Battleship.

I love Dirty Dancing and Footloose, but what about Singing in the Rain, Gene Kelly is Ah-MAZ-ing always.
